    Abstract :

    Anthropometric And Physiological Characteristics Are Essential Determinants Of Athletic Performance And Play A Significant Role In Selecting And Training Athletes For Different Sports. Cricket And Football Are Among The Most Popular Sports In India, Each Requiring Distinct Physical And Physiological Demands. While Cricket Emphasizes Technical Skills, Concentration, And Moderate Endurance, Football Demands Higher Levels Of Aerobic Capacity, Speed, Agility, And Muscular Endurance. This Study Aims To Compare The Anthropometric And Physiological Characteristics Of Intercollegiate Cricket And Football Players In West Bengal. The Analysis Focuses On Body Height, Body Weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), Body Fat Percentage, Resting Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, Vital Capacity, And Maximal Oxygen Uptake (VO₂max). The Findings Provide Valuable Insights Into Sport-specific Physical Profiles, Which Can Assist Coaches, Sports Scientists, And Physical Educators In Designing Effective Training Programs And Improving Ath Letic Performance.
