    Abstract :

Automotive Spoilers Are Aerodynamic Components Designed To Improve Vehicle Stability, Handling, And Overall Performance By Controlling Airflow Around The Vehicle Body. As Vehicle Speed Increases, Aerodynamic Forces Such As Drag And Lift Significantly Influence Fuel Efficiency, Road Grip, And Driving Safety. An Appropriately Designed Spoiler Reduces Aerodynamic Lift While Increasing Downward Force (downforce), Thereby Improving Tire Traction, Cornering Stability, And Braking Performance. With Advancements In Computer-Aided Design (CAD) And Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Aerodynamic Components Can Now Be Designed And Optimized Accurately Before Manufacturing. This Project Focuses On The Design And Analysis Of An Automotive Spoiler Using CAD Modelling And Numerical Simulation To Evaluate Its Aerodynamic Performance Under Various Operating Conditions. Initially, A Three-dimensional Spoiler Model Is Developed Using CAD Software By Considering Standard Aerodynamic Dimensions, Curvature, Mounting Angle, And Material Properties. The Developed Model Is Then Imported Into CFD Software, Where Airflow Behaviour Is Analysed By Applying Suitable Boundary Conditions Such As Inlet Velocity, Air Density, And Atmospheric Pressure. The Numerical Simulation Evaluates Airflow Distribution, Pressure Contours, Velocity Profiles, Drag Force, Lift Force, And Downforce Generated By The Spoiler. The Obtained Results Assist In Identifying Regions Of Turbulent Flow And Pressure Variation, Enabling Optimization Of The Spoiler Geometry For Improved Aerodynamic Efficiency. The Optimized Spoiler Demonstrates Reduced Aerodynamic Drag, Increased Downforce, And Enhanced Vehicle Stability Compared With Conventional Designs. The Study Confirms That Integrating CAD Modelling With Computational Fluid Dynamics Provides An Effective, Economical, And Reliable Engineering Approach For Designing High-performance Automotive Spoilers Before Fabrication. The Proposed Methodology Contributes To The Development Of Lightweight, Efficient, And Aerodynamically Optimized Vehicles With Improved Safety, Fuel Economy, And High-speed Performance.
