Evaluation Of Clinical Risk Management Practices And Patient Safety In Multi-Specialty HospitalsID: 3719 Abstract :Clinical Risk Management Has Become A Central Pillar Of Patient Safety Strategy In Multi-specialty Hospitals, Encompassing Systematic Identification, Reporting, Analysis, And Mitigation Of Risks Arising From Medication Use, Surgical Procedures, Diagnostics, Infection Control, And Clinical Documentation. This Paper Evaluates The Effectiveness Of Clinical Risk Management Practices In Enhancing Patient Safety Outcomes In Multi-specialty Hospital Settings. A Mixed-methods Research Design Was Used, Combining Structured Questionnaires Administered To Hospital Risk Managers, Clinicians, And Nursing Staff With Secondary Data Drawn From Hospital Incident Reporting Systems And Published Patient Safety Literature. The Study Evaluates The Categories Of Clinical Risk Incidents Most Frequently Reported, Quantifies Before-andafter Changes In Incident Reporting Rate, Adverse Event Recurrence, Root-causeanalysis Completion Time, And Patient Harm Severity Following Structured Risk Management Implementation, And Identifies The Institutional And Cultural Barriers Limiting Program Effectiveness. Findings Indicate That Structured Clinical Risk Management Practices, Particularly Incident Reporting Systems, Root-cause Analysis, And Staff Safety-culture Training, Significantly Reduce Adverse Event Recurrence And Improve Nearmiss Reporting, Although Underreporting Culture, Staff Workload Pressures, And Inconsistent Follow-through On Corrective Actions Remain Key Constraints. The Paper Concludes With Recommendations For A Proactive, Safety-culture-driven Clinical Risk Management Framework For Multi-specialty Hospitals. |
