Abstract :Road Safety And Urban Accessibility Continue To Pose Significant Challenges In Rapidly Expanding Cities, Where Unreported Hazards, Inadequate Street Lighting, And Deteriorating Infrastructure Contribute To Increased Accident Rates And Reduced Mobility, Particularly For Pedestrians And Individuals With Special Accessibility Needs. This Paper Presents SafeSteps, A Comprehensive Community-driven Platform Designed To Identify, Report, And Visualize Road Safety And Accessibility Issues In Real Time. The Proposed System Leverages Crowdsourced Data Collection Integrated With Mapping Services And Artificial Intelligence To Enable Users To Report Localized Hazards, Including Accidents, Potholes, And Waterlogging, Supported By Visual Evidence. The Architecture Of The System Comprises A Responsive Frontend Developed Using React, A Robust Backend Implemented With Django, And A Scalable Realtime Database Managed Through Firebase. Additionally, The Platform Incorporates An AIpowered Assistant To Provide Intelligent Responses To Civic Safety Queries And Facilitate Informed Decision-making. By Enabling Proactive Hazard Awareness, Optimized Navigation, And Community Participation, SafeSteps Aims To Bridge The Gap Between Citizens And Urban Infrastructure Management. The System Contributes Toward The Development Of Safer, More Inclusive, And Resilient Urban Environments. |
